Kindergarten Prep class is available for students who will be 5 by December and are ready for a more academically focused program, but not yet age appropriate for Kindergarten. This class will be shared with the Kindergarten class, offering more advanced academics and less focus on play.

Kindergarten Prep is appropriate for students who are ready for a more stringent curriculum. It will provide great socialization for Kindergarten class and an education with a serious emphasis on Kindergarten readiness.  While this class is more academically focused; play, creativity and socialization will continue to be important pieces to the Kindergarten Prep curriculum.

Our monthly snack schedule is available for download on our About page. Snack is the same for all classes.

Sinead Brooks, Lead Teacher

Sinéad Brooks:
Welcome! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to spend a spectacular school year as your child’s Kindergarten Prep teacher. My name is Sinéad Brooks (pronounced ‘Shinade’) and I am the lead Kindergarten Prep teacher at Little Acorn. I feel very privileged to work at Little Acorn and to be surrounded by wonderful students. I am so excited about getting to know each one of your families. Here is a little bit of information to help you get to know me.
This is my 3rd year working at Little Acorn. I have a Masters degree in Teaching from WSU Vancouver. I hold my teaching certificate in Washington State and completed my Professional Certificate last year. I have been working with children in the primary grades (K-2) for 10 years now. I grew up in Ireland and have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Linguistics & German from Dublin City University.
I married my wonderful husband, Dutch, in 1999 and we have 3 great children – Declan (who graduated from Little Acorn in 2015) and my twins, Elise and Rory, who still attend Little Acorn. In my free time, I enjoy knitting, working out, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

As your child’s Kindergarten Prep teacher for the 2016/2017 school year, I am committed to providing a safe, inviting and positive learning environment for your child. I have an open door policy and welcome parent involvement in and around the classroom. I believe we are a team working together in your son/daughter’s education.
Communication is a key part of your student’s learning so please feel free to email me ( with any questions or concerns you might have. I am also available after class or by special arrangement.

Caroline Fields, Assistant Teacher

My name is Caroline Fields and I have been working at Little Acorn Preschool since 1997. I love working with young children and their families. I continue my education in Early Childhood by regularly taking classes offered through Clark College, Washington Stars Education Credits and Evergreen School Districts Early Learning Partners. Little Acorn is a very special program that provides creative curriculum and an engaging atmosphere. Our students learn and grow and thrive here, I have such a great job!

I am married and have 3 children, 2 boys and a girl, all former students of Little Acorn. In our spare time we enjoy camping and riding ATV’s.
