Raccoon Ridge
Preschool Age
WELCOME TO RACCOON RIDGE!
The Raccoon Class is a nurturing preschool community for children ages 3–4 years, where learning happens through play, exploration, and meaningful connections. Our days are filled with hands-on activities, imaginative play, stories, music, art, outdoor adventures, and opportunities to build friendships.
We believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and encouraged to be themselves. Through a play-based approach, we support each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development while fostering curiosity, independence, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning.
In the Raccoon Class, every child is celebrated for their unique personality, and every day is an opportunity to discover, create, and grow together.

LEAD TEACHER
Hi! My name is Jamie Donahue, and I’m so excited to begin another year at Little Acorn Preschool as the teacher of the Raccoon Class! I have been with Little Acorn since 2022 as the assistant in both Sunshine and Chipmunk classes.
Before beginning my journey in early childhood education, I worked as a chef in New York City, Portland, and Vancouver. Those experiences taught me the importance of creativity, patience, and bringing joy to everyday moments—qualities I now love sharing with young children.
I am currently working toward my Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate at Clark College and am passionate about creating a classroom where every child feels safe, loved, curious, and excited to learn through play.
I am the proud mom of three wonderful children, ages 10, 13, and 17, and Little Acorn holds a special place in my heart because all three of my children attended preschool here. It truly feels like home!
In my free time, I love spending it with my family, riding my bike, snowboarding, swimming, being outside, cooking, shopping, and looking for fun things on Pinterest;)
I can’t wait to spend the year exploring, creating, laughing, and growing together with the amazing children in the Raccoon Class.
Thank you for sharing your little ones with me—I look forward to getting to know each of your families!

ASSISTANT TEACHER
Hi!
My name is Courtney Holland and I have been working with children since I was one myself!
Since high school, I have primarily worked as a nanny, specializing in families with twins. I have also been a foster parent, postpartum doula, family court advocate and have held a number of volunteer positions in the Portland area. Community is so important to me!
Recently I came to Little Acorn as a Summer Camp assistant teacher and have fallen in love with the community here. I'm so happy I get to continue on as the Raccoon Class assistant teacher this year!
I can't wait to get to know my students and learn who they are individually. I'm excited to bring a sense of humor, play, creativity and curiosity into our classroom. And snacks! We are Raccoons, after all!
Outside of school I am a hobby collector! Lately you can find me playing tabletop games with friends, kayaking with my sister, catching a movie at the theater, sharing whatever I'm eating with my nephew, or trading the neighborhood crows pistachios for treasures!
